loreal hair product haul + de lorenzo rejuven8 the ends

as always, im trying to help my hair :) i style it almost every day and it has been through alot (ive gone from black to brown to blonde to brown to red to blonde to blah blah blah!!!) it needs help! anyways, here are some products i bought today, some ive used before, some i havent!

i initially went in just to purhcase the loreal shine blonde shampoo. i adore this stuff, it makes my hair feel soft and helps tone down the brasiness. other "blonde" shampoos (usually a purple colour) leave my hair feeling brittle. its about$25 per bottle. i have used the conditioner in the past, but if you're only using it a  few times a week to tone down brasiness, you don't really need to purhcase the conditioner! (imo)

however, i then decided i may aswell try a new treatment, because they had a "buy 2 loreal products, and receive 15% off" promotion on. the lady who was helping me suggested a buy a pack instead - 3 products for under $50! (worth on average, over $90).

the initial pack came with 3 products: the shine blonde shampoo, the shine blonde conditioner, and a "thermo smoothing milk for natural control".

the lady was nice enough to swap the shine blonde conditioner, for the "absolut repair" mask that was in a different pack! she also gave me the option of a serum, instread of the thermo milk. but i went with the thermo milk :)

so basically in the pack i received the shine blonde shampoo, absolut repair mask, and the thermo milk.

i used the absolut repair mask today (shampooed, towel dried, left on for 3 minutes, rinsed) and it's made my hair quite soft! haven't used it enough to give a proper review, but it doesn't weight down my naturally thin (and non naturallt damaged) hair. so far, so good.

i followed the treatment by applying some of the thermo milk to my towel dried hair :) however, i didn't blow dry it. can't give a review on this just yet! but like the treatment, hasn't weighed down my hair, or made it feel greasy!

the other reason i went to hairhouse warehouse today was to but the de lorenzo rejuven8 the ends cream! in the past ive used up 2 tubes of this (the first one was my brothers, i stole it haha), and it's amazing! it smells delicious, and it's the cheapest and most effective ends serum ive ever used! it's only $18.50 for this tube, and it came with "25% extra" haha. if you have dry ends, you should definitely give this a go. can be used on wet or dry hair!

And below that is the Mac Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bait - Friken love the stuff!!!

Over the last few months Ive been looking for slighty cheaper alternatives to the Mac StudioFix I use. Based on Reviews, It was either a toss up between Loreal Infallible foundation and Revlon Colorstay. Ive never been a fan of Revlon (despite their excellent reputation) so I decided to go with Loreal.

Over the past few weeks Ive been into Priceline Numerous times and tried the testers to match my colour. The colouyrs confuse me so much!! They dont really go from light to dark, its like light, medium, light, dark, BLAH!! Anyways settled on Nude Beige 605.

I put off purchasing the foundation because it was expensive and I decided to wait for a promotion.

And today was my lucky day!! They had a buy 2, get 3rd product free.

So I purchased the Nude Beige 605 foundation, then went for the powder, noticed there was no 605 in powder, so I got the lightest one available - 662 Natural Buff.

Im a tad concerned the colours may be too dark. But I fake tan in Summer heaps so its no biggy. I also purchased the Loreal Telescopic mascara in Carbon Black!!! My HG Mascara :)

Top 3 Foundation Review

Top 3 Foundations

So over the past, say, 3 years I have been obsessed with foundations, because according to myself I have horrible, horrible skin that needs to be covered.
Well in truth, I have okay skin. I dont have acne, or I dont have like massive pigmentation.

My skin concerns are redness (across the nose and cheeks), and an oily nose (not tzone, just my nose). I also have large pores. I never used to have large pores, only in the past year have I noticed that they're fucking huge.

My facialists view on my skin is that the redness is due to dryness and my use of skincare targeted at oily skin. I have now stopped using products to reduce oiliness, because this only produces more sebum!!! Apart from that she says my skin is *breaths* perfect.. Crazy woman.

I always buy foundation that is medium - full buildable coverage. Long lasting is always a must because Im quite active. S0 here are my Top 3

#1 Clinique Superfit Makeup

Price: $49

Benefits: Oil Free, Long Lasting, Oil Control,

Durability: Long lasting. It does not go cakey at all!!! However it does rub off onto my shirt if I switch tops before I leave the house in the morning. (Rimmel foundation does not do this)

Pros: Its a Clinique best seller!! With good reason. This foundation doesnt just "sit" on my skin, it blends perfectly. It keeps my shiney nose less shiney all day and doesnt sink in my pores. Also, I have problems sometimes with foundations "oxidizing" throughout the day into yuk yellows of bright pinks, this stays the same colour all day :) Whenever I switch from my MAC Studiofix I find that my skin has about 80% less pimples!!! ALso it feels like your not wearing much on my skin :) Love it!

Cons: I have yet to find anything wrong with this foundation!!! Except maybe its a bit Pricey. Lol stingy much?

#2 Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

Price: $18
Benefits: Long Lasting, Transfer Resistant, Mineral Enriched.
Durability: The best!! I go to work at 11am, finish at 4pm, head over to the gym, bootcamp for 1hour, come home, ITS STILL THERE. However, This does cause a problem when you actually want it to come off when cleansing your face!!! Ive found Loreal Dermaq Makeup remover works really well.

Pros: Stays on all day, no matter what I do!!! And it just looks flawess. As long as I touch up with blotting papers (thankyou, Body Shop) every 8 hours, I can wear this for as long as I like (Longest Ive tried this is over a 2day bender I did one weekend, friday day, friday night, saturday day, and it was there saturday night when I took it off!!!! Whaaaat!!!). Also the colour is PERFECT. And the Price is awesome!!!!

Cons: In my experience you have to blend faster than usual foundations. If I leave it on my skin for too long it gets harder to blend... It doesnt mention anywhere on the packaging that its not Oil Free, which is a shame because I prefer if my foundation is oil free, makes my feel better :P ALso, after I put it on my face and I use my fingers to blend the last bits in, I wash my hands and I have to use makeup remover thoroughly to get rid of it!!

#3 MAC Studio Fix Fluid

Price: $48
Benefits: Oil free, Long wearing, Buildable Coverage.
Durability: Not as long as the first 2. Well it does stay on the skin, but it makes my nose shinier than the other 2, and tends to flake off in dry patches.

Pros: Looks fabulous!! I dont even blend this foundation. I just squirt 2pumps onto my fingertips and rub it all over my face and it just blends itself. Maybe Im just lucky, But it just looks perfect.
Cons: I do believe this foundation is the reason my pores are so huge, and even if its not, it does nothing to hide them!!! But its probably because I havent found the right primer yet. Id stop using it, but its just looks so flawless!!

So basically, Clinique Superfit foundation is the overall high achiever. Rimmel Lasting Finish stays on your skin, not your clothes. And MAC Studio Fix just looks perfect, little blending needed.

Rimmel Renew and Lift Powder Foundation, about $15.

And the Loreal Double Extend Mascara which was on sale from $27 down to $23. I bought this because I absolutely love love LOVE Loreal Telescopic mascara but decided I needed a bit of a change. Havent tried this yet but Ill tell you all how it goes! :)

Went to the Royal Adelaide Show today! Was heaps of fun! Went on the Insanity ride... Ugggh was soooo scary! I had my eyes shut half the time! Love the show though! I bought a gorgeous pink halo :) My friends say Im 18 going on 13.. Haha its so true! Good ol' Bertie Beetle bags!

...Burts Bees Honey Lipbalm, because its only $6.95 and lasts several weeks with continuous usage! Its the new paw paw cream (In my opinion!)

...Garnier Eye Roll on, because it's great for early mornings (damn them!), somehow it magically rids your eyes of dark circles! Its also invigorating putting something so cold under your eyes in the morning! Great wake up call :)

...SHE eyedust in Empress Dust, because it has a gorgeous texture and a vibrant gold colour that stays put all day long!

...Loreal Telescopic Mascara, if you don't already know that I LOVE this stuff to pieces then you probably don't read my blog often. I rave on about this stuff always! Separates and lengthens so wonderfully.

...Lush Celestial moisturizer, honestly, I have only used this stuff once! I was using Jurlique Calendula cream (which is excellent!) but Ive swapped over to Lush because of the price difference! Lush Celestial is literally half the price of my usual Jurlique moisturizer!

...Be Yourself eyeshadow pallette, because it has 48 colours(Or close too, lol too tired to do the maths right now!)! Theyre all beautiful and all last long enough; And it was under $10 !!! Bargain!

Supermarket Hair Products

I was at the hair dresser yesterday (blowdry pre-party) and I was discussing which supermarket hair brands were bad, and which ones were okay to use.

Do Not Use:

Any of them! Apparently most of the brands you find in your local supermarket aisle use a product called Silica which just coats the hair and inforces product build up without actually nourishing your hair!

However, She (as in Lydia, my hair dresser) mentioned that there are a few quality bargains! She suggested the L'oreal and Schwarzkopf; saying that basically their cheaper versions of the salon quality hair care is just technology that isn't as advanced as the higher priced ones.

But Im still not 100% convinced that Ill stop using the so called "bad" products - They just make my hair feel so lovely!!

Has your hair dresser mentioned the pros and cons of supermarket brands?

Whats your opinion - Is it worth spending practically double the amount to get "salon quality"?

Smokey Eye

I still have yet to perfect the smokey eye, so please don't judge too harshley! Lol Usually I wear nude shades with a pop of colour, but I felt deep and almost seductive today! Lol Hope you enjoy! xx

Shortie Shorts

So today was the warmest day Adelaide has had for 3 months!!! So I decided to celebrate this (because I loveeeee warm weather!) by applying a spot of fake tan, thank you Nivea Summer Beauty, and cutting up a pair of Dotti jeans into short shorts!

There is one little problem with these semi-home made shorts.. I had to cut through the pockets so they'd be short enough! So this arvo I was walking from my neighbourhood visiting a friend and only had my lipgloss and Mobile. So I put on my lipgloss (I do this religiously.. my boyf gets annoyed cos my lips are always "sticky".. How suss.) and then shoved the lipgloss in my pocket and kept walking, then something hit my leg and I was like WTF!? and looked down to see my lipgloss. Anyways, so great story right! Haha :)

Oh and I have run out of the foundation I used for when Im "tanned" - MAC NC20.. Yupp! thats right, NC20 is tan on me! Im defnitely albi :)

Ps Once again sorry about the pictures! My camera goes fuzzy without a flash, So I always have to use flash! Ughhh and the flash makes my face like whiter than it usually is. Oh wells! :(

Pps Thats my bro's room.. Uggghh is anyone jealous of the mirror he has!? I wanted one :(

I havent had my HG mascara - Loreal Telesopic - For almost a month now! Due to my 'lack of funds' aka NO JOB! So I sneakily added it to the shopping trolley because I know my mum has a hard time saying No to me infront of other people (The check out chick.. Who giggled when my mum accidently swung her keys in my face lol :( ouch). Hopefully Im not the only one that uses my mothers weaknesses against her for my own benefit! :( Oh wells, This is the best best BESTEST mascara in the whole entire world! Ive used it since I had decided to rip of false eyelashes, and with the false eyelashes came some of my real ones! This mascara makes it seem like that incident never happened! Thanks Loreal :D
