FOTD: 1/12 Sportsgirl Animal Instinct Palette

On Sunday I bought the Animal Instinct Cosmetic Palette from Sportsgirl, and I havent yet tried it, SO I thought Id do a Face Of The Day using the products from the palette!!

Here's the palette itself:

The 2 colours on the left are the lipglosses, the 2 colours in the middle is the blush, and the 2 colours on the right are the eyeshadows.

Also on my face I used the products below to create a subtle base.

L2R: The Face Shop Make Up Base, ModelCo Face Base Skin Primer, Revlon Skin Lights, Vani-T Krush Minerals Liquid Foundation.

Face Shop Make Up Base in 01 Green

Ive tried other green correctors such as MUFE Corrective Makeup Base and Maybelline Redness Corrective Concealor, but this one is so easy to use compared to those 2!!! The texture is really smooth and it leaves your face looking remarkably less flushed, and has a velvet matte finish! Love it!!

ModelCo Face Base Skin Primer

This is about $10 from ModelCo counters in DJ's, I used this every. single. day. last year, but then got turned off because I bought a bad one which left my skin with white fur balls all over it? It was weird? Anyways I couldnt return it because I chucked out the receipt like WTF? ANyways learnt my lesson, keep receipts. ANyways, Onto the product itself, its wonderful. It says its a hydrating face primer and can be used instead of moisturizer, but I tend to slap on my moisturizer and then this ontop and it makes my makeup last significantly longer and doesnt make my face feel tight like other primers!!

Revlon Skinlights Instant Skin Brightner in 01 Natural Light

I guess this is like an Illuminizer? Ive had this one tube for about 1 year now and its still as good as ever, however its one of those products that arent great, but arent bad, so I use it for a week straight then forget about it. But its gorgeous, I definitely reccomend it! Its not GLITTERY its more shimmery and toned down, so you can use it by itself or mix it in with foundation, or put it where you'd like to highlight i.e. cheeks, eyebrow bone, etc.

Vani-T Krush Minerals Liquid Foundation

Ugh. Just horrible. It looks so tacky and the skin and its hard to blend compared to other foundations I use. I do not like this at all. The colour was matched incorrectly and the lady who served me was just a plain old BITCH. Its too expensive, doesnt last long, shitest mineral makeup Ive ever used ay. Ill give it a point for being a mineral makeup, and the cute packaging, but apart from that NUP.

Alrighty, Long reviews aren't really my thing. So basically Ill give you my humble opinion on various products, followed by ratings out of 10 for the following:

• Value for Money
• Quality of Packaging
• Quality of Product

ModelCo Lash + Brow Growth Stimulator

AUD$42

Claims: " LASH + BROW Growth Stimulator is your beauty secret weapon for voluptuous lashes and fuller thicker brows in just 14 days! This unique wonder product restores thin lashes and over plucked brows with a deep conditioning blend of vitamins and proteins that prevents damage from free radicals to the hair follicle while simultaneously working to maintain healthier hair growth. "

My Opinion: 14 days? Nah. I used it every night for almost 2months and it did not imrpove my lashes. Not the length, volume, or health. However, There are reviews saying good things about this product (thats why I purchased it in the first place) so I still encourage people to try it out if they wish, and see if it works for them!!!

Value for Money: 0/10 (cos it didnt work for me) 6/10 (if it had worked, its alot cheaper than the other $150 versions out there!!)

Quality of Packaging: 8/10 (Simply, modern)

Notes: Only use at night. If you wear it during the day, you cannot apply mascara on top!! It clumps lashes together!!

Caution: Avoid getting it in your eyes - Stings like a bitch!!!

Kerastase Noctogenist Spray

AUD $46.50

Claims: (from back of product) " Overnight revitalizing treatment, renewing effect - For fine, dull, tired looking hair. Throughout the night, the enriched formula nourishes and portects the hair fibre. In the morning hair is refreshed, light, radiant and feels renewed. Spray over lengths and ends of dry or towel dried hair. INstantly absorbed and does not weigh down hair.

My Opinion: It really does leave the hair soft and silky in the morning!!! However it didnt perform any miracles, its more of a smoother and detangler. It smells delicious, and the spray is light and absorbs quickly.

Value for Money: 6/10 (if it weren't so expensive Id buy it again!! However, Ill be trying out cheaper versions.)

Quality of Packaging: 5/10 (not that great, the supermarket brands look just as good. However the brand itself entices my to buy products like these!! Id much rather Kerastase on my dressing table rather than Tresemme - Ps I love Tresemme!)

Note: Its tempting to use too much product because it feels like their isnt enough product on the hair, I used way too much for the first 2weeks and it emptied out half the bottle!! I only use 3-5 "spritzes" now and it feels just as good as when I used 10+ !!

Pimple Problem?

Garnier SOS Pen

Pros:

Works well.

Cons:

Cant wear under makeup, causes flaking.

Dries out skin.

The weird smell gets to me.

Nivea Bye Bye Spot

Pros:

Works well!! Had a pimple and put some of this on it at 4pm and then later before bed, and noticed a dramatic difference the next day!!!

Nifty packaging. Kinda "Stylish" for a pimple treatment!!

Does not leave skin dry.

Cons:

You have to "press" the pen onto your skin, and if you have a sore pimple, it kinda hurts!! I mean you dont have to like push down hard or anything, but its still a tad rough!!

Clearasil Blocker Pen

Pros:

Cool concept. Like a twist biro full of pimple fighting stuff.

Cons:

Doesnt actually work. (For me)

Dries out skin.

Cant wear under makeup, causes flaking.

Which One Would I Re Purchase?

Nivea Bye Bye Spot Pen.

Looking for a natural solution? Try pure Tea Tree Oil. Works soooo well!!! Not as convenient as these 3, because you have to use a cotton bud and dip it in the oil. Maybe Im just lazy :)

September Favourites + Mini Haul

Hello there!

I can't believe I have not even written up ONE post this month! Ive just been super dooper busy with work and friends.

My first October Post will be my Favourite items from September!!

1. Heels
2. Twilight Series! I only have the last 3 books because I saw the movie for the first book and so decided to pick up where I left off! and OMG the books are sooo much better than the movie!!!! Loved them:)
3. Chichi Body bronzer. Love this. its freakin' gorgeous! Looks great in my room, and great on my body. I use it on my legs and chest when I go out. It gives it a slight faux tan look and some sparkle :)
4. Dolce and Gabbana perfume. Its winter here in Aus and so this is so gorgeous. In summer I prefer light scents, nd this perfume is so not light! Its gorgeous to feel sexy on cold winter nights.
5. Rimmel Lift and Renew Powder foundation. This is my HG powder foundation - Better than MAC! The only thing that doubts this powder is the colour selection.. ONly 4 or 5 colours to choose from in the range! Dodgy.
6. The Body Shop Vanilla Oil Perfume. Smells soooo good! Theres a Lush version too that Id die to try out but its like$60 whereas the TBS version is like$20. Ill stick to what I know and love for now :)
7. Starry EyesLiquid Eyeliner. Yay! All glittery and gorgeous! From Sportsgirl (their coool makeup collection!) I love coated my top lids in this on weekends! Sparkle my way throughout the clubs. Its a tad childish, but who am I kidding! Im no adult :) Ugggh speaking of that, my bday is soon. the big 1-9-!!!!!! ahhh.
8. Face of Australia lipglosses. $4 each! Great value, great product! But they've been discontinued! Ugh this ALWAYS happens to my HG lipglosses :(
9. NARS blush. Yum yum yum. So sparkly and gives a gorgeous glow, be it day or night!
10. Benefit Valley of the STars. Great little kit. I mostly use the eyeshadows when Im at my bfs house cos he finds it weird when I bring a bucket of makeup to his house to get ready to go out. He wants to seemore of my "natural beauty" AHAHAH laughable.
11. This is a "vintage" necklace! Lol My mum found it whilst cleaning out her room the other day and decided Id love it. Which I do! Apparently its cheap metal but I pass it as gold. Lol

BELOW As you can see below I use HEAPS of the Rimmel powder! Still going!

Im really disappointed because Ive been using the ModelCo Lash + Brow Growth Activator and it hasn't given me any results yet! I started using this product on the 20th of September, it says that I should see results after 2 weeks, it has been just over 2 weeks now, and no improvement in my lashes have been noticed :( So I shall be doing a FULL review on this product in 2weeks to see if there's a substaincial change in my eyelashes at the 1 month mark.

Yesterday I also bought a few things :)

1. MAC powder sponges(???) - about $8. I use these instead of the sponge that comes with the Rimmel foundation.
2. Rimmel Stay Matte foundation - Was about $15, got a free powder with it! Haven't used it yet but cant wait till the weekend so I cna give you all a quick review.
3. The Body SHop Shea Butter Shower gel - $12.95. Ive used this the past few days, Ive managed to skip moisturizing after the shower and my skin doesnt crack as it usually does! Not sure if it comes down to the moisturie properties in this shower gel or just plain luck! It smells yummy :)
4. Rimmel stay matte powder foundation FREE with the purchase of any Rimmel foundation. Love freebies! Ive been using this in the morning after applying my liquid foundation. It doesnt seem to make my makeup last any longer though. But I loveee Rimmel foundations!
5. Room oils from Dusk - $6 each. Bought Vanilla annnnnnd some other one. Lol sorry too lazy to look! I think everyone should either have scented candles or oils in their bedrooms. Makes it so much more homey :) And my boy loves to come into my room when it smells yummy.

I dont usually read but Ive decided if Im going to get into it I may aswell read something thats actually interesting! So I dont have to pretend to enjoy reading, Maybe I actually will! The book is so well written! It makes you feel like your THERE.

ModelCo Lash + Brow Growth Activator $42

I shall be doing a review on this!!! It says it will take 2weeks for result, so I shall show you a before and after at the 2 week mark, and then at the 1 month mark :) Fingers crossed!

ModelCo Skin Drink

I use this whenever I cannot be bothered with slathering body lotion all over. Its $32 so its not something I use daily. Its basically spray on moisturizer! Its packed with lots of goodies such as Ginko, Papaya, Green tea and Bamboo - even the smell makes you believe you're doing your skin some good!

Samy Anti Frizz

I tried using it this morning when I was blow drying my hair but practically half asleep - I used way to much product! Oops. So Ill use half the amount tmoz and give a quick review! It smells really good though! Like candy!

Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo

I couldn't find the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment that everyone's been raving about :( So I bought this instead! I have such a collection of dry shampoos, theyre great! Because I have fine hair it's hard to do upstyles that actually stay put! So I can use this when my hair needs a bit of help :) Not to mention my over active oil glands!

Maybelline Colossal Mascara

I was in priceline and it said 15% off Maybelline, which brought this down to just $15. Now, I have my HG mascara already (Loreal Telescopic) but I decided why not try this. There have been adds and raves in every magazine and online forums, So hopefully this will live up to the expectations! Fingers crossed!

Okay, so purple is in this season! So I decided to buy this. As Ive said before Australis is excellent quality at affordable prices! Im wearing the deepest colour today and its making my blue eyes pop! So lovely.
