Hair Dilemna: Split Ends!

I purchased the Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender (phew, long name!) from Price Attack today. It was $27.95, although I looked online and I could've got it for like $20, but I wanted it now. My hair needs it.
I have dry, split ends, and I don't want to cut them off. I know that's bad, since there's not quick fix for split ends, basically you have to cut them off, orelse you risk them creeping up higher and cracking the whole hair shaft. But it's a risk I'm willing to take, in order to get long (ish) hair!
Hope this works :) Has some good reviews!

"Boost that ego and save your hair! Ego Boost Split End Mender & Leave in conditioner will seal, smooth and protect your hair. As a split end mender, apply to ends. As a leave in conditioner, smooth over fly-aways as needed. Use on wet or dry hair."

According to reviews I've been reading, it's great for touch ups during the day to control frizziness. It also seals the cuticle, making it seem like the hair is healthy.
Apparently it also helps the hair condition, but I'm a tad skeptic because my ends are fried, I think they're beyond help. But we'll see how it goes! I'll give it a few more weeks, and if my ends are still unmanageable, I'll give them the chop!

The Tigi Bed Head Split End Mender will be replacing my Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends. I liked the way the Schwarzkopf Sealed Ends made my hair feel, it felt like ti was being nourished, but after using the whole tube, my hair hasn't improved. I do like the product, and I might re-purchase because it isn't bad, but in the mean time I'm trying new products to see if I can find something that will help my ends.

Has anyone suffered from split ends, then over come it?
Are there specific products you use to help prevent them?
Or even a cure?

I've been using the Redken Extreme shampoo and conditioner, and it's helped my hair, but I think I've had enough protein, and I'm going to start dying my hair again, so I need some new products!
I'm trying to find out recs from other blondes, but haven't come across any recs I think that would suit my hair type yet. So I purchased the Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship duo.
I wanted to try the Herbal Essences Breaks Over duo, but they didn't have any. Grrr.
I don't think the scent is nearly as good as Herbal Essences Hello Hydration, but apparently it's more moisturizing!

Any recs for moisturizing products?
I'm looking for a spray leave in conditioner!
But it has to be able to be sprayed onto dry hair, aswell as wet.
